  1. To use the AppleShare Updater, follow these steps:

  3. 1. Backup your AppleShare file, but do not store it in your
  4. System Folder.  You may have only one copy of AppleShare in your
  5. System Folder.
  6. 
  7. 2. Launch the AppleShare Updater and select your AppleShare
  8. file.  If you are running the Updater from a floppy disk, you should
  9. lock the disk first.
  10. 
  11. 3. If the file you selected is v2.0.2 of an AppleShare file, the
  12. file will be updated.  You will be alerted if any errors occur.
  13. Otherwise, you will be notified that the file has been successfully
  14. updated.
  15. 
  16. In general, if there are any errors, the file will not be
  17. modified.  However, in unusual circumstances the file may be left
  18. in an inconsistent state (such as when a power failure occurs while
  19. writing the file).  So, it╒s always safest to make a backup copy 
  20. of the AppleShare file first.
  21. 
  22. 4. You will again be prompted to pick a file to be updated.
  23. Either choose another one; click the ╥Help╙ button to read this help
  24. again; or press ╥Quit╙ to exit the application.

  26. 5. If your AppleShare file is not in your System Folder, move the
  27. updated copy there, and then reboot your Macintosh in order
  28. to use the new AppleShare file.
